A cold, allergies or other more specific diseases can cause rhinitis or sinusitis in children. It is a nuisance that can be very uncomfortable since it produces sneezing, nasal obstruction, increased volume of discharge, and sometimes loss of smell.

Rhinitis or sinusitis is nothing more than a rejection of the nose to a certain element, and that is that the nose is not only the entrance door for air, but also a control organ. When the nose detects that a chemical or other substance may be dangerous, it works by causing irritation or obstruction of the nasal passages.

Given these symptoms, doctors prescribe mucolytics that can alleviate the itching or runny nose, even pharmaceutical companies sell sea water to clean the nasal passages. However, on our site we offer you a home remedy, ideal for children, very easy to make and above all, very inexpensive.

Ingredients for the seawater recipe:

  • 1 liter of water
  • Salt
  • sodium bicarbonate

How to make, step by step, a seawater solution to clean the nostrils:

1. Boil a liter of water and dissolve a tablespoon of salt and a tablespoon of baking soda in it.

2. Put a part of this solution in a closed glass (better to use a dropper).

3. The rest of the liquid you can keep in the refrigerator.

4. Wash the nostrils for several days the nostrils with this solution.

This home remedy is clean, healthy, cheap and can be used even if the child does not suffer from sinusitis, simply to clean the nostrils.
