Christmas is a very favorable time to do crafts, decorations and games with children. We must not forget the kitchen either, of course, and we can spend a very fun afternoon preparing these cookies.

To transform the dough of the butter cookies or margarine into a fan of Christmas trees, bells, and stars, we need some molds and, above all, a lot of imagination. Here we offer you the step by step, do not miss it!

  • 300 gr of wheat flour
  • 150 gr of sugar
  • 250 gr of butter or margarine at room temperature
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ½ tablespoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of vanilla essence

Tips: To decorate the cookies you can use chocolate noodles, colored or glitter noodles, edible paint, and ... whatever the children like the most!

1. In a bowl, mix the butter or margarine and the sugar well until a very homogeneous dough forms.

2. Add to the dough, the egg yolk and the vanilla essence. Beat everything until the dough is smooth. Next, add the wheat flour and salt. Mix everything very well. Work the dough with your hands until it is well homogeneous.

3. Make a ball with the dough and pack it in plastic wrap. Put in the fridge for 30 minutes.

4. Take the dough out of the refrigerator, knead it for a while and then, on a floured surface, roll it out with the help of a kitchen roller, until it is about half a centimeter thick. With the help of the molds, cut the dough into Christmas shapes.

5. Arrange the cookies in a baking dish lined with non-stick paper, and put them in the oven for approximately 15 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown.

6. The next and last step is to decorate the cookies as the children like them best.
